providing practical wisdom to Teachers, Students, and Parents

I help teachers refresh their practice, and I help students take ownership and thrive. The teachers, researchers, and students with whom I’ve worked over the years have helped me develop an approach informed by practical wisdom– what the Greeks called phronesis. I bring this balance of theory and practice to work.

Teacher Development and Support

I work with English departments and teachers in the humanities.

Student and Family Coaching

I work with students and families.

Speaking Topics

I speak on a variety of topics to parent groups, teaching teams, and curriculum development teams.

How We Work Together

I use a variety of modalities, including modeling best practices, curating and distilling research to enhance and support practice, facilitating roundtable discussions, and providing one-on-one coaching and support. I also facilitate literature-based and writing-focused small discussion groups for high school and college students (including home schoolers).
